Using the GAME Plan Process with Students


The GAME plan process is very beneficial for students because I was able to set goals, work through a process of steps, reflect on my steps and then evaluate my students.  I feel the International Society for Technology in Education and the National Education Standards for Students relate in a way that they are both wanting students to be thinking at a higher level and demonstrate collaborative thinking.  They both also want students to be creatively conducting research in a problem-based manner.  Students need to be using technology in a productive way to aid in student achievement.  I will continue to use thE GAME plan process with my students to help them develop proficiency in the NETS-S because it is a great way to guide my instruction.  I want to use this process because students need to be introduced and use the latest technology to inspire innovative thinking to aid in higher order thinking.

  1. The technology standards that we have utilized are fairly easy to incorporate. They make it easy to integrate into almost any lesson and they are easy for the students to comprehend. Teaching our students about the different technologies out there and giving them the opportunity to experience them is crucial in preparing them for their futures. The GAME plan is a nice, organized plan that I will continue to use throughout my teaching career.

  2. It's no coincidence I think that all the current and emerging informed practices in education point toward problem based learning as an exemplar of great learning and teaching. This whole degree so far has been a very validating experience, and being able to support my ongoing efforts to improve education at my school is a welcome relief.

  3. Wendi, I agree that the International Society for Technology in Education and the National Education Standards for Students create a higher level of collaborative thinking. It allows students to set goals, as well as work through and reflect on these goals that can be accomplished throughout the semester. By utilizing these goals students are introduced to the digital media that will help carry them into the twenty-first century.

  4. Using the GAMEplan, my students are able to create their success in their work. My kids have a difficult time in the Evaluation portion of the project, where they have to look at what they did personally, and as part of a team, to help achieve success. The technology standards allow students to tie technology into each area of study in contempory education.
